Sustainable Algae Bioreactor
Project Sponsor: Engineers for a Sustainable World
TGIF Grant: $1,700
Project Theme: Energy Conservation and Efficiency
Project Description: The Sustainable Algae Bioreactor Project will construct an environmentally-friendly and functioning algae biofuel reactor on the UC Berkeley campus to both promote and encourage the overall implementation of renewable energy to the student body. In the process, this project will produce a workable biofuel to be used in campus fuel systems, or sold and donated to fund future sustainability.
Project Goals:
- Produce a workable biofuel that can be implemented into a wide variety of campus systems.
- Educate the student body about this new and upcoming technology, while promoting renewable energy to the campus community.
